More study is needed on noise emissions from big industrial wind turbines and their effects on human health.
So says the group Wind Concerns Ontario.
And, at tonight’s meeting of Prince Edward County council, council will be asked to support the undertaking of such a study.
Council will see a report in which it’s hoped the University of Waterloo will receive funding to conduct a turbine noise/health effects study in conjunction with partners Wind Concerns Ontario and the Huron County Health Unit.
The organizations believe current regulations governing the distances between turbines and homes and businesses are not sufficient.
They believe the current information is focussed too much on turbine noise outside of homes, when people complain that the effects of turbine noise are more noticeable inside of homes.
Prince Edward County council meets this evening at 7 o’clock at Shire Hall in Picton.
