Three young men were charged with drug and weapons offenses late yesterday afternoon in Belleville.
City police were called about men carrying baseball bats chasing another on North Front Street.
Upon investigation, police searched a car on North Park Street. They seized two backpacks containing marijuana and three baseball bats.
Two men in the car were arrested, as was a third man who approached the car on foot.
A large quantity of cash was also seized.
An 18 year old Trenton man and a 20 year old Belleville man, along with a 17 year old, were charged with drug trafficking, possession of a dangerous weapon and the proceeds of crime.
They have November court dates. No one was injured.
