Voting has begun for the annual Aviva Community Fund contest, which provides money to various community projects and the Prince Edward County Museums are hoping you’ll support their idea.
The County Museums, in association with the de Vries Natural Heritage Collection Committee, are hoping to get some cash to help retrofit the Green Barn at the Ameliasbrugh Heritage Village, as a new home for the collection.
County Museums Curator Jennifer Lyons tells Quinte News, the exhibit is regarded as one of the finest taxidermy collections in the province.
Lyons adds, the collection has strong connections to the area and is a great educational resource.
The total fundraising goal is $275,000, with a request of $91,000 from the Aviva Fund and the scope of the work includes repairs to walls and siding, new insulation and interior finishing, new lighting and HVAC systems and more.
