Prince Edward County will support the development of a new study designed to investigate potential risks to human health imposed by industrial wind turbines.
Tuesday night, mayor Robert Quaiff and councillor Steve Ferguson gave a presentation requesting the municipality get behind a Comprehensive Wind Turbine Noise Emissions and Health Study.
Mayor Quaiff says he thinks this type of study has been coming for quite some time.
If all goes according to plan the University of Waterloo will receive funding to conduct the study in conjunction with partners Wind Concerns Ontario and the Huron County Health Unit.
The study comes at no cost or risk to the municipality.
It’s unclear how long it will take to conduct.
