There’s a interest in the Bay of Quinte Constituency Youth Council.
MP Neil Ellis said over 50 young people between the ages of 15 and 24 applied to join the team aimed at engaging youth and hearing their perspectives on priority issues and interests.
He explained they were looking for 10 to 20 youths to get engaged and that may change now.
MP Ellis said his team will continue to go through the applications and start contacting applicants at the start of November.
Once selected, the Council will meet several times throughout the year to discuss a number of issues that could include climate change, access to employment, LGBTQ issues, peacekeeping, and other topics that matter most to the community.
