On October 5, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine Unit, Belleville Police Service, Tyendinaga Police Service and members of Central Hastings Detachment executed two Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrants at two separate residences on Madoc Street in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake and a residence on Springbrook Road in Stirling-Rawdon Township.
Investigators seized a restricted firearm (handgun), cocaine, marijuana and other Schedule I substances as well as other drug related paraphernalia. The street value of the controlled substances is estimated at approximately $17,000.
As a result the following people have been charged:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/ammunition
Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 – in Canada
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Fail to Comply with Recognizance – 3 counts
MERIANOS has been held in custody pending a bail hearing at Ontario Court of Justice – Belleville on October 6, 2016.
