A Belleville-based soup maker is getting a funding boost, which will allow it to expand capacity and improve its products.
Sprague Foods Limited is using a $79,000 grant from the Green Belt Fund, to invest in a new packaging machine and launch a new organic soup line.
The seven new soups will be made using Ontario ingredients, which is a priority for the company.
Shipments of the first organic product, a lentil soup, have already left the warehouse and are on shelves across Canada, including at Costco.
