Quinte Craft: Oktoberfest video compilation
Beer, cider, wine and food.
As far as festivals go, those are the essential ingredients for success.
The couple of thousand Quinte residents attending Quinte Craft: Oktoberfest would agree as would the marketing arm of the festival Bay of Quinte Tourism, who elected to have this tasty event bi-annually in the Quinte region.
Laura Voscamp, Communications Manager for Bay of Quinte Tourism, said the successful event has expanded the event size, as well as upped the number of vendors to well over forty for the fall edition of the festival that celebrates craft brews.
She noted pre-sale tickets matched the spring edition as well, and the bustling crowds on Saturday were reminiscent of the event earlier in the year.
John Alexiou, head of the Quinte Restaurant Association, said the over half dozen local food vendors were pretty happy with the event’s turnout.
Alexiou however, expressed disappointment with the city of Belleville and their lack of desire to get behind the festival, noting that city officials were concerned that food vendors would compete with the downtown restaurants – a claim he dismissed noting that the majority of vendors on hand were from downtown.

Thankfully residents will not have that long to wait for the next edition of Quinte Craft which is set in Quinte West on April 22, 2017.

Voskamp added the venues will likely alternate between Belleville and Quinte West.
