The four foundations representing Quinte Healthcare Hospitals are teaming up to try and fix some important medical equipment.
The MRI machine at Belleville General has reached the end of its lifespan and with MRI requests within QHC going up 30 percent over four years, upgrades are needed as soon as possible.
The four foundations together are trying to raise one million dollars, with the Belleville foundation raising close to 47%, Trenton raising close to 31%, Prince Edward County raising about 17% and North Hastings using unrestricted funds to cover about a 4% share.
The foundations say the renovations would be conducted this winter, over a three week period and any MRI’s needed during that time would be done in Kingston.
