The group OurTMH made a pointed and direct deputation during Tuesday night’s QHC board meeting.
Chair for the citizens group Mike Cowan talked to members of the board about trust.
Cowan says over the past 18 years, health care in Quinte West has seen numerous challenges and this has been hazardous to that trust.
He urged QHC to publicly state support for TMH to keep the centre for Ambulatory Excellence and day surgeries.
Cowan says OurTMH should also have a seat at the table when it comes to planning for the new health hub announced by the province in August.
A final request by Cowan was that QHC publicly support MP Neil Ellis and the federal government in their plans to bring veterans health care to Quinte West.
Board Chair Tricia Anderson says the board will respond to OurTMH over the coming two weeks.
