A little bit of rain didn’t dampen spirits at an official sod turning for the Hugh O’Neil Friendship Garden in Quinte West on Monday.
Members of the O’Neil family, Quinte West City Council and staff gathered at the Trent Port Marina, to break ground on the garden, commemorating the late Quinte-area MPP.
Hugh’s wife Donna told the crowd, Hugh was a “do-er” for the people of Quinte.
Former Mayor John Williams is on the organizing committee and echoed that sentiment.
