This Monday is shaping up to be a very busy and exciting day in the City of Belleville.
At 8 in the morning, city council will hold a special meeting that will involve a report and then a vote
on the expansion and updating of the Yardmen arena at a cost of over 20 million dollars.
That project would pave the way for a major hockey team to move in to the city.
Then at 11 o’clock Monday morning, council will hold a media conference at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
The reason for the conference is an official secret, but sources to Quinte News say Mayor Taso Christopher and others will reveal details on a hockey club moving to town.
In an unusual move, and one signifying the importance of the announcement, the Mayor has extended an invitation to all Belleville Chamber of Commerce members to attend the event.
To top the day off, council will hold it’s regular meeting Monday afternoon, with the public portion to start at 4 o’clock.
