A retired Canadian Forces LAV III has found its final resting place.
This morning (Saturday), the light armoured vehicle, which played a prominent role in Canada’s military
action in the Afghanistan war, was dedicated at the Afghanistan Repatriation Memorial in Quinte West’s Bain Park.
The LAV III is stationed right beside the memorial where the names of the 158 Canadian military members who died in the conflict
are engraved.
The Honorary Colonels of 8 Wing/CFB Trenton were instrumental in bringing the vehicle to the memorial.

Meanwhile, the first annual Wounded Warriors Canada Highway of Heroes Bike Ride roared away from Trenton this morning as well.
About 150 riders will raise about $150,000 for injured veterans and their families.
The ride ends tomorrow afternoon at the veterans memorial at Queens Park in Toronto.
