The new Empire B Jr C season got underway last night in Amherstview, with the visiting Gananoque Islanders spoiling the host Jets party, winning 6-4.
Four different Islanders cashed in three points on the night, including a pair of two goal performances from Chris Minns and Ryosuke Kobayashi.
Matt Carter added a goal and two assists and Brody Cross had three assists as well.
Dawson Chard and Hunter Chapman had a pair of goals each for Amherstview.
Nick Kidd made 32 saves in the win for Gananoque, while former Islander Quinn Cota drew the loss, despite stopping 33 shots.
Today, the Islanders go right back at it at home versus the new-look Picton Pirates, while Amherstview stays at home to host the Napanee Raiders.
Campbellford and Port Hope also played last night, unfortunately no details are available.
