The surgeries are staying at Trenton Memorial Hospital. The Health Minister has promised $6 million to start up a “health hub” near TMH.
It’s all good news, and one might think the citizens advocacy group, OurTMH, might slow down or even disband.
But the group has no intention of relaxing. OurTMH is now shooting for a membership of 20,000 people by the end of next year. It already has over 4,000.
Chair of OurTMH Mike Cowan says 20,000 members supporting the Trenton hospital means government will pay attention.
Meanwhile, OurTMH will speak to the Quinte Health Care Board of Directors at its meeting in Trenton September 27th.
