The story of a miraculous medical rescue that spanned half our country played out in the Hastings-Quinte emergency services recently.
Chief of Hastings-Quinte paramedic services Doug Socha says it all began when a call came in from British Columbia from a woman worried about her father in our area.
His speech had become slurred while she was talking to him, he stopped talking and the phone went dead.
Local paramedics and OPP rushed to the address, and police broke down the door.
Socha says Kingston ambulance dispatch reports similar long distance help for patients.
