The QUINTE CRAFT:OCKTOBERFEST scheduled for Empire Square on October first has been joined by two other groups to present a day-long event in Belleville’s downtown.
Kathryn Brown of the Belleville Downtown Improvement Area told city council the DBIA has joined with Quinte Craft and the Shriners Club for the October first event.
The DBIA will hold a Downtown Street Festival on Front Street, the Shriners will have a children’s zone near the Empire, and the Octoberfest will be on Empire Square.
Brown says a tent city along Front Street will let people see what has happened in the city centre, calling it a “positive turnaround.”

Council approved a request for closing Front Street northbound to Pinnacle/Station Street, placement and removal of barriers on Front street at Victoria, and removal of garbage and recycling containers and two portable washrooms. at a cost of just over $1,200.
Brown said QUINTE CRAFT: OKTOBERFEST had withdrawn its request for services from the city.
