Bloomfield in Prince Edward County was the hardest hit of any community in the Quinte region as a series of heavy thunderstorms rolled through starting early Saturday evening.
The storms featured bursts of damaging winds and a series of torrential downpours.
Trees and power lines were knocked down, with some catching fire, keeping Prince Edward County firefighters and Hydro One crews hopping.
No one was injured, but at one point in the evening, some 800 residents and businesses were without power in the county. The vast majority of the power had been restored by very early Sunday morning.
Most of the damage was in and around Bloomfield, but was scattered throughout the village. Luckily, there was no significant damage to homes or other structures.
There had been reports of people seeing water spouts on Lake Ontario and on East Lake.
