Last Thursday Sept 8, the Belleville Police Service Traffic Unit in partnership with provincial and federal agencies conducted commercial motor vehicle safety and compliance checks in Belleville.
A total of 41 inspections comprised of 37 commercial vehicles and four passenger vehicles, resulted in 15 vehicles being taken out of service for safety defects. Two vehicles had their licence plates removed to serious irreparable issues. 20 charges for safety and equipment violations as well as two charges of driving while under suspension were laid.
