Belleville Police say a phone scammer is in no way linked to their department.
Yesterday (Wednesday), the police service received several reports of suspicious phone calls.
Callers reported a male with an East Indian accent was asking for personal information.
The phone number listed was the Administration line for the Belleville Police Service.
Belleville Police say this person is not associated with the Belleville Police Service and reminds residents not to provide any personal information over the phone.
