August was an extremely good month for real estate sales in the Quinte Region, compared to the same month last year.
Overall dollar totals for property sales last month were up almost 28% from August last year, with residential sales going up 31%.
Quinte and District Association of Realtors President Cathy Polan says the main reason for the spike was an increase of 11 more homes sold in the $500,000 to $750,000 bracket.
315 residential units were sold last month, compared to 270 in August last year.
Polan says the number of active residential listings is down about 36% and the average sale price of a home is up 12.3%, to about $273,300.
