Belleville native Shaw Boomhower will be playing farther away from home this season than originally thought. The fiesty 17 year old winger has been signed by the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads.
Boomhower had an impactful rookie season with the Wellington Dukes where he scored 23 points in 51 games while adding a physical element to their lineup. Boomhower was expected to be a key part of the Wellington roster this season.
The Dukes open the new OJHL campaign Friday night when they host the Aurora Tigers.
