An inmate at Collins Bay Institution in Kingston has died in custody.
63 year-old Richard Brant Foster was found unresponsive in his cell by staff members at the Institution and could not be resuscitated.
Foster was serving an indeterminate sentence for possession of a Schedule I substance, manslaughter and second degree murder. He started his sentence in April of 1983.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
