A great battle in the garden between local politicians ended with – a tie.
Prince Edward County Mayor Robert Quaiff and Councillor Steve Ferguson were pitted against each other Saturday in the Striped German Tomato Challenge.
The goal was to see who could grow the biggest tomatoes to be judged on and to raise some money for charity.
Mayor Quaiff said he felt confident in his tomatoes and that the judges were in Councillor Ferguson’s corner.
Mayor Quaiff says the challenge was for a good cause.
The hospice was Mayor Quaiff’s charity of choice and the splash pad was Councillor Ferguson’s.
