A comeback was in the works yesterday in Guelph, on the ball diamond.
The Quinte Royals Bantam “A” team had to claw from behind at the 2016 Ontario Baseball Association Provincial playoffs, but managed to come out on top, beating the Cambridge Cubs 11-10.
The Royals started off a little shaky, falling behind 4-0 before closing the gap to 4-3 in the 3rd inning.
They eventually took a 9-7 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Cambridge wouldn’t go away without a fight either, tying things up and sending the game into extra innings.
Cambridge would eventually take the lead in extras, but the Royals clawed back one more time with two runs in their half and took the thrilling 11-10 win.
Quinte also played at 4 yesterday against the winner of an earlier Kanata/Guelph game, unfortunately no details on that game are available.
