Members of the National Air Force Museum’s Board of Directors are announcing a stellar gala event this October.
The semi-formal event “Out of this World, Astronaut Portrait Gala” will be held at the museum on October 21st and along with dinner and dance, will feature a special unveiling of a portrait of Canadian Astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield, commemorating his role as the first Canadian Commander of the International Space Station.
The seven-foot portrait was painted by Canadian artist Cyril Leeper and the National Air Force Museum of Canada was chosen, by Colonel Hadfield, as the display location for the next five years.
Colonel Hadfield and Leeper with both be on hand for the unveiling.
Tickets are available for $150, with all money raised going towards the museum’s programs and initiatives.
