Canada’s Minister of Defence says a detailed review of what the country’s most elite military unit needs to do its job continues.
Today (Monday), at the opening of the new Integrated Personnel Support Centre at 8 Wing Trenton, Minister Harjit Sajjan told the media that it’ll be a while yet before he makes a final
decision on when or whether the secretive Joint Task Force 2 will move from its Ottawa base to a new home at 8 Wing Trenton.
Recently, an Ottawa newspaper revealed that the costs of of moving JTF2 could be tripling to over 1 billion dollars.
Any move to 8 Wing Trenton likely won’t happen until 2019 at the earliest.
