A volunteer committee, including some members of Hastings County Council, will take over the social housing complex in Bancroft hit by a fire and board of governors walkout last spring.
Hastings County staff members have been assisting with the North Hastings Non-Profit Housing Corporation complex since the fire in the spring that destroyed five units.
CAO Jim Pine told council this week that a volunteer committee is needed to run the operation for probably the next two years.
He says some decisions are required to make sure the tenants are well served.
Pine emphasized the four council members on the committee are there as volunteers, not as members of council.
Members of the committee now include: Reeve of Carlow/Mayo Bonnie Adams, Reeve of Faraday Township Carl Tinney, Reeve of Hastings Highlands Vivian Bloom, and Reeve of Limerick Township Sharon Carson.
