Motor vehicle Collision involving a pedestrian
Belleville, Ontario – On August 22nd, 2016, at 4:12 p.m. police attended at Cannifton Road and Station Street as a pedestrian had been struck by a car. The pedestrian was taken to hospital by EMS with minor injuries. A 41-year-old woman was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Assault
Belleville, Ontario – On August 22nd, 2016, at 9:46 p.m. police attended on Albion Street as a male had been punched in the face by another male. A 39-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats of bodily harm. He will appear in court on September 22nd, 2016. The victim did not require medical attention.
Unwanted Person
Belleville, Ontario – On August 22nd, 2016, at 11:45 p.m. police attended at a licenced establishment on North Front Street in relation to an unwanted person. A 56-year-old Trenton man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
Weapons seizure
Belleville, Ontario – On August 23rd, 2016, at 2:35 a.m. police attended on Front Street looking for a male who was trying to sell a taser. A 33-year-old Belleville man was arrested and a taser was seized as evidence. He was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon while bound by a weapons prohibition order, and breach of probation. He will appear in court on September 22nd, 2016. No one was injured.
