Belleville’s arts community has responded to an extended call for grant applications earlier this summer.
Belleville extended the deadline for its 2016 community Arts and Culture Fund grant after officials found there were not many applications for the money, a total of $25,000 from the Veridian fund.
Grant committee chair Councillor Mitch Panciuk tells Quinte News the applications are now in.
Panciuk says the money is aimed at helping to sustain the arts in the community.
Panciuk says he expects his committee to consider the applicants in September and the recommendations go before city council in October.
