Both staff of the Belleville Downtown Improvement Area have resigned but the board’s chairwoman is very optimistic going forward.
Acting executive director Erica Holgate and events and office coordinator Andrea McKibbon have chosen other jobs. Holgate’s last day is August 19 and McKibbon’s is August 26.
Holgate says that there was no case of dismissal. She has taken a marketing position at Queen’s University at Kingston and McKibbon is exploring another venture that hasn’t been solidified just yet.
Chairwoman Edie Haslauer said Executive Director Karen Parker is scheduled to return in February from maternity leave, adding operations including events, grant applications and partnerships will continue despite the lack of staff.
Haslauer explained the turnover is a great thing.
The board will begin looking for an office coordinator in a few weeks.
