It appears work on a stretch of Old Highway 2 is getting praise from a local municipality.
At Tyendinaga Township Council Monday night, staff brought an update on work done on a three kilometre stretch of the highway near Marysville.
Original plans saw the municipality requesting millions in upper tier funding help to do a nine kilometre stretch, however no cash came.
Clerk Steve Mercer says they looked at a different option.
He says the $150,000 worth of work saved about $2 million.
They will look at the longevity of the surface and if effective, will work on the remaining six kilometres.
