Quinte West OPP officers were searching along the shores of the Bay of Quinte late last night and early this morning.
Just before midnight, the OPP were called about a distraught young man who had threatened suicide.
It was believed he was headed to the Dundas Street bridge in downtown Trenton.
However, cell phone pings led officers to an area near the bay further to the east, around Bain Park.
The man was located after one o’clock this morning and taken away for assessment without incident.
