A home was heavily damaged after a fire northwest of Glen Ross Friday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m., Trent Hills Fire crews were called to 521 Hoards Church Road, where a blaze had started in the kitchen.
Trent Hills Fire Chief Tim Blake says the fire alarm saved the day.
The flames and smoke spread through the attic, and the house was nearly destroyed.
Blake estimated the damage around $200,000.
Stirling-Rawdon crews were also called to the scene.
No cause has been released at this time.
