Emergency response teams have cleared the scene and a section of Highway 7 is open again, near Madoc, after a two-car crash this afternoon.
Madoc firefighters responded to the call, near St. Lawrence Road West, just before 1:00 and found sparks from the crash also ignited a patch of grass in the ditch.
Madoc Fire Department spokesman Jason Greer says that fire burned a patch about 500 feet by 50 feet in size.
Two people were taken to hospital, but the severity of their injuries, or current conditions are unknown.
Crews were completely clear of the scene by 2:30 this afternoon.
