They have been ordered by the courts, however there’s not been much movement on the former Intelligencer building in Belleville.
Officials with the City of Belleville say no work has been done on the downtown eyesore since January.
After a legal battle between the city and Prime Canadian Properties, the court ordered repairs to be made, however city officials say they are not done.
Chief Building Official Ted Maracek says the work has stalled, despite the fact a permit has been issued by the city.
Maracek says there is no way to force the owners to work faster, unless some serious legal dollars are shelled out.
Work was expected to be complete at the end of 2015, however it is still a ways off.
Major repairs were ordered on the building, after pieces of the east wall came crashing down to the sidewalk.
There is talk of the building getting a retrofit for residential units, however no confirmation has come from the company.
