Quinte West Council has made a commitment to get rid of a noxious weed that’s causing problems not only in this area, but across Ontario.
Towns across the province have been dealing with wild parsnip and the plant has been found in more than 400 locations across Quinte West as well.
Director of Public Works Chris Angelo says the plant can actually cause some pretty severe health problems if you come into contact with it and that’s why it needs to go.
And Angelo says it’s going to be a lengthy process.
Wild parsnip is a tall weed, with a yellowish flower on top and if you see it spraying seeds, you should stay away.
