CJBQ radio is celebrating a big anniversary this year. The Quinte region’s oldest radio station is officially
70 years old on August 12th.
CJBQ, 800 on the AM dial, will have special programming all week long.
Today (Tuesday), Jack Miller will play tunes from 1974, the year he was hired as an afternoon disc jockey.
Wednesday, enjoy the voice of country music in the 1960s on CJBQ, Dick Lovering.
Former morning men, John Henderson and Peter Thompson, will round out the special programming on Thursday and Friday respectively.
All of the guests will appear between noon and two in the afternoon.
Also, there will be special newscasts delivered by Mary Thomas, Mike Beeston and Gerry Fraiberg at 1 p.m.
