Belleville’s Terry Fox Run is getting set for another major cancer fundraiser this fall.
Organizer Vicki Samaras told city council this week that the local run has raised more than $710,000 for cancer since it started in 1982.
Last year the event, in honour of Terry Fox who ran halfway across Canada despite having lost a leg to cancer, raised $29,716.
This year’s run is set for September 18 at Zwicks Park.
