It seems a new wind power project will go ahead as planned on Amherst Island, in Lake Ontario, just west of Kingston.
The Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County has released information that the Environmental Review Tribunal has dismissed an appeal to stop 26 industrial wind turbines from being built on the island.
The Tribunal ruled there wasn’t enough evidence to prove there would be irreversible harm to animal, bird, or plant life.
The project developer is Windlectric/Algonquin Power.
APPEC is itself involved in an appeal of a 27 turbine project proposed for the south shore of Prince Edward County.
