We expect to learn the fate of the four Demonstration Schools in Ontario, including Sagonaska school in Belleville Monday.
A consultant’s report was released yesterday on the schools. The report was commissioned by the provincial government as it considered all options for the education of students with learning disabilities.
One of those options was closing the 4 Demonstration Schools which provide an intense, 24 hour program to bring the students up to or close to the education levels of other students their age.
Local MPP Todd Smith has long supported parents in arguing that the schools are providing an excellent service and says the consultant’s report really says nothing new.

The report does not offer a recommendation. The Minister of Education will comment on Monday.
