While both halls of the Centre Hastings fire department were busy dousing hot spots at a barn fire on Phillipston Road, a grass fire broke out to the north in the municipality.
At 3:20 this afternoon, Madoc Township firefighters responded to a grass fire on Centre Lane near Camp Quin-Mo-Lac on the shores of Moira Lake.
And, a bit earlier, Marmora and Lake firefighters were called out to a grass fire on McLeary Road, on the former Marmora Mines property.
That was under control at 3:45.
Then at 4 this afternoon, aircraft spotted a big grass/brush fire on the Deloro Road, near Malone Road, in Marmora and Lake.
Ministry of Natural Resources forest rangers are fighting the fire, said to be one hectare in size, using a helicopter.
Marmora and Lake firefighters are also on scene.
