A recent decision by Stirling-Rawdon council to cut the number of school crossing guards to one from three isn’t sitting well with former crossing guards and some parents.
Last month, Stirling-Rawdon council voted to lay off the 3 crossing guards, and allow them plus another former guard, to re-apply for the one position.
Former crossing guard Tina Devries believes safety demands at least 2 crossing guards working at any one time at Stirling Public School.
A delegation will appear before Stirling-Rawdon’s next council meeting on the 15th.
