A malfunctioning of its landing apparatus caused a small pontoon plane to tip over while landing on Lake Ontario near the Sandbanks yesterday morning.
The light plane was seen off shore with one wing up and the other submerged under water.
The mishap occurred off Salmon Point Road around 10:30.
The pilot and passenger were both treated for gasoline exposure at the scene.
