A sod-turning ceremony was held in Quinte West Thursday for a new addition to the Afghanistan Memorial in Bain Park.
It’s a special project of present and former Honourary Colonels at 8 Wing Trenton; the installation of a second monument, a light armoured vehicle, LAV III.
Honourary Colonel John Williams says the group has raised $25,000 to buy the vehicle and install it in the park near the Afghanistan Memorial.

Williams says the pad and sidewalk will be developed this month, and he expects the project to be completed by the beginning of September.
