(BANCROFT, ON) – During the week of the 24th of July 2016 through to the 31st day of July 2016, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 139 calls for service. Three criminal code charges were laid as a result of those investigations.
The calls for service dealt with multiple animal complaints, 2 break and enters, 9 domestic disputes, 14 traffic complaints, 6 weapons calls, 8 911 calls which were accidental, 9 noise complaints, harassment complaints, thefts and frauds.
Eleven occurrences once again dealt with motor vehicle collisions with 4 charges being laid. One motor vehicle collision involved a vehicle striking a deer.
During that same period, officers issued 39 Provincial Offence Notices, including 17 charges for speeding, 2 charges of operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-held communication device, and 1 for failing to stop at a stop sign, as well as other Highway Traffic Act offences.
Officers also issued 5 tickets for liquor related offences such as open liquor in a public place, and public intoxication.
