Real estate statistics for July show house prices for the Quinte area jumped 14.9% over July of last year.
President of Quinte and District Association of Realtors, Cathy Polan, says the average residential sale price for July was $268,551.
She says this is the result of a few larger residential sales in July.
Meanwhile, Polan says active residential listings are down 35% from a year ago.
She says continued low mortgage rates offer various options to home buyers, including first-time buyers.
