If you’re headed out to play Pokemon Go this long weekend, officials at CFB Trenton want to remind you that the base is no place to be chasing virtual monsters.
Spokesperson Lieutenant Karyn Blanchette says 8 Wing personnel have noticed some Pokemon Go hot spots showing up at places around the base.
Blanchette says while it’s OK to play the game on public grounds near 8 Wing, players should be mindful to not cross into any unauthorized areas.
She adds all military bases, especially Trenton, are active and operational and that can lead to a number of dangerous situations, so players need to respect signage and base boundaries.
While no specific incidents have been reported in Trenton, military police at CFB Borden, North Bay and a base in Nova Scotia, have all reported incidents of people playing the game where they shouldn’t be.
