Fire gutted a 2 storey wood frame duplex near Tweed yesterday afternoon.
Fire broke out after 4:00 p.m at 22 Stoco Road, next to ball diamonds and a part of the Poplars Golf Club.
Tweed Fire Chief Derrick Little says the fire started on the deck of the second floor apartment, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
The family living on the first floor escaped safely and no one was injured.
Tweed, Tyendinaga, and Belleville firefighters responded to find the second floor fully involved.
The damage estimate is around $250,000
