The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate for the cause of a fire that caused serious damage to two neighbouring homes on College Street East in Belleville on Saturday night.
However, the investigation has determined that the cause was accidental.
Damage to the two houses is set at over $350,000.
A general alarm was triggered just after 7 o’clock on Saturday night after smoke was seen coming from the house at 240 College East.
Firefighters arrived to find flames affecting the house next door as well.
No one was injured.
